2026 Updates

Hello friends! As you can see, things have been very busy here on The Ridge!

With the evolution of our micro farm, we have made some operational changes that impact our regular customers and offerings.

Starting in January 2026, we will no longer be offering delivery or in-person meet up for eggs or cottage bakery items. These items are still available by request for on-the-farm pick up in Stanardsville, VA. With rising fuel prices and our constantly changing work schedules, we can no longer offer to meet customers off the farm.

In addition to this change, we have decided to scale back our poultry breeding efforts and are no longer offering Coturnix quail hatching eggs or live birds. This will also be our first year since we started our micro farm that we will not be hatching any eggs or raising any baby animals.

However, we are still offering hatching eggs from our Bantam Cochin breeding stock. We have even added a new color to the line–blue mottled. Bantam Cochin hatching eggs are available by request only, and are available for on-the-farm pick up for orders under $100 and in-person meet up for orders over $100. They are available as “Hens’ Choice” and are offered at $25/per dozen for an assorted mix.

We hope that you will still continue to follow along on our journey–as there are lots of big things happening here on the farm. We plan to continue sharing our story, lessons learned and mentoring fellow homesteaders and hobby farmers.

Thank you all for your support over the years and for sticking around to see what comes next!
